Treatment of hyperpigmentation dark skin

Hyperpigmentation – An annoying ailment that unfortunately occurs far too often. Because it can be prevented very well in a number of cases. Hyperpigmentation can be triggered by various influences. Once you have it, getting rid of it is quite difficult. Pigment spots they don't fade in the winter months like freckles do. Fortunately, this condition is very preventable and certainly treatable.

Prevent and treat hyperpigmentation

  • Daily skin protection

Protect the skin well against sunlight. That doesn't mean you can't go outside at all. However, it is advisable to properly protect the skin against UV radiation from the sun. In the winter months when the sun shines brightly, preferably also wear sun protection. It is not necessary on cloudy rainy days in autumn and winter. In the summer and spring months it is advisable to wear sun protection daily. This way, pigment spots can be prevented.

  • Hyperpigmentation cream

A hyperpigmentation cream works excellently to fade the pigment spots. You are supposed to use the hyperpigmentation cream daily and for a longer period of time. After 8-12 weeks you will notice that existing pigment spots are a lot less visible. These fade rather slowly but effectively. Many Skinlight users notice virtually no difference in the first few weeks, until it is suddenly noticed. In principle, Skinlight is not a hyperpigmentation cream, but it can be used very well for that. The pigment cream is able to lighten dark pigment.

What Causes Hyperpigmentation?

Hyperpigmentation is caused by irregular production of melanin. Melanin is the brown or reddish pigment in the skin. Certain triggers cause this erratic production. Triggers are mainly exposure to sunlight (UV radiation). This then leads to color accumulations on the upper skin surface, but can also be in deeper skin layers.

More causes of hyperpigmentation are hormonal factors and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). The latter is caused by wounds and scars. Hormonal hyperpigmentation and PIH are enhanced by UV exposure. Unlike freckles, hyperpigmentation will not fade in winter. The dark spots become more and more visible as we age. The reason for this is that pigment spots often develop deep in the skin layers. The skin then renews itself every month, and the deeper skin layers slowly come to the surface. When pigment spots, hyperpigmentation and age spots are developed at a young age, they become visible at a later age.

Prevent hyperpigmentation

To prevent hyperpigmentation, wearing sun protection with at least spf 30 daily is an absolute must. Why at least spf 30? that is because this factor protects the best. If you opt for a lower factor, the protection is not optimal and a lower SPF also wears off faster. The difference between factor 30 and 50 is minimal, so factor 30 is sufficient. A sunscreen prevents sun damage. As soon as the skin is exposed to UV radiation, the skin immediately produces melanin. If you protect the skin well, this will be prevented.

Remove hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is treatable. For example, there is a special hyperpigmentation cream. You apply this twice a day over the entire face. It is a product that you use often and for a long time. What exactly does the hyperpigmentation cream do? the formula has been developed in such a way that it is able to inhibit melanin production. That is exactly what you want because the disturbed pigment production causes dark spots on the skin. Because scars can darken and turn into a pigment spot. Is it advisable to always take good care of scars? Products such as bio-oil are ideal for this.
